The Barking Lot

The Barking Lot was founded in 2005 with a mission to provide exceptional care for pets while their owners are away. Our approach combines personalized attention with a deep understanding of animal needs, built on over two decades of experience in the pet care industry. We offer a comprehensive range of services including doggy daycare, overnight boarding, and in-home pet sitting, all designed to ensure pets receive consistent, loving care in safe environments. Our flat-rate pricing model eliminates hidden fees, ensuring transparency and value for our clients. We include complimentary baths with boarding stays and provide nutritious meals to maintain pets' comfort and well-being. Our trained staff specializes in caring for animals with complex medical conditions, administering medications and providing necessary medical oversight.

Our founder, Sue Towler, brings over 24 years of military service experience and a lifelong commitment to animal welfare, operating our services with the same dedication she applies to her 501c3 no-kill animal shelter, Kamp Kritter. We maintain strict health and behavior standards to ensure all pets' safety, requiring up-to-date vaccinations and non-aggressive temperaments. Our North Riverside facility offers structured playtime, multiple potty breaks, and supervised socialization between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM on weekdays. We also provide flexible in-home pet sitting services for clients who prefer care in their pets' familiar environments. Our commitment to continuous improvement is reflected in our recent facility upgrades and modernized branding while maintaining the same high standards of care established in our founding year.
