From home drop ins, AKC approved puppy training, and vet tech level medical care to epic K9 day adventures, backpacking trips, and teaching K9 WFA classes. I have a lifetime of experience with hundreds of our 4-legged friends. I am a Colorado native who has found her home and am overjoyed to be surrounded by the incredible people and animals of Telluride.

I have over 17 years of paid, professional animal care experience, during which I've provided reliable and excellent dog-sitting services, training, hiking adventures and in-home care to hundreds of clients. This is on top of living on a farm of horses and other animals for since I was born. My approach with dogs is a unique blend of consistency, calmness and compassion.

From pack adventures to private training sessions, your dog will love their customized program and all the adventure that is to be had here in our mountains and canyons. Your dogs will be delighted to join my pack because I am truly passionate about animals. As a canine behavioralist, I work with your dog's true nature and help them develop their best personality while training for the obedience that allows them to live safely and freely in our human world.

Report
I've been house and ranch-sitting for over 15 years, starting back when my mom drove me to client homes before I had my own driver's license!
My 11 years in 4-H as a youth contributed to my early responsibility, organization and reliability as well as my depth of knowledge about and experiences with animals, especially horses.
I will stay in your home with your dogs and any other animals.
Stays range from one night to one month or longer.
We will set up a meet and greet at no charge in advance so I can meet you and your animals, you can show me their routine, any details about your home I should know.
K9 Training
Report
My passion for seeing animals thrive and live their best adventure lives shines in all that I do.
As a canine behavioralist, I work with your dog's true nature and help them develop their full personality while training for the obedience that allows them to live safely and freely in our human world.
Bonus- you will love to come home to a tired, happy and well-behaved dog!
I've found that dogs learn best when they are exercising and have a balance of "calm brain-state" and "excited brain-state."
AKC Evaluations
Report
Organized training classes provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs, as well as for you to learn the best way to communicate with your puppy.
In classes aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction, you'll be able to get information on all of your puppy-raising questions including house-training, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called.
How to earn the title?
You and your pup (up to 1 yr old) will take my 6 week puppy class together, and I will administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test at the end of the course.

As a certified Instructor for Pet Emergency Education, I teach the engaging and informative must-attend class for any dog owner, avy dog handler, or SAR dog hander.
Pet Emergency Education courses are recognized internationally for their excellence and now we have developed a course for outdoor enthusiasts who bring their dogs along on their backcountry adventures.
Get certified, earn CMEs, and feel confident in your hands-on ability and knowledge to help your dog if something happens while out on an adventure.
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Class
Report
In person classes have been post-poned for 2020.
I hope to host the next AKC classes in spring 2021 once the days get longer so we can do daylight evening classes.
Thanks for your patience!.
At the crucial age of 8 weeks- 6 months, puppies need to do most of their key learning, socialization, and experiential development.
If a few key behaviors and experiences are solidified by certain milestones, the rest of your life with your dog will be much easier and happier.
Breeders rarely if ever keep logs of socialization, correct handling or potty training, and our wonderful shelter pups often come with some level of early neglect or have been "trained" (everything we do around our dogs is training whether we intend it or not!) in an unwanted fashion already.
