We have updated a policy in order to better serve all of our clients. When you reserve dates to board your dog, we need the exact dates to secure your reservation. If you return early you will be responsible to pay for the dates of your reservation. WHO are we? A husband and a wife, who love animals. We created Friendly Paws Pet Care because we have lived and worked with animals our entire lives.
Our decision to work with cats and dogs grew from following our hearts and doing what we love. Roger and I, Susan feel grateful and honored to do this work because animals bring more joy to our hearts then words alone can describe. WHAT have we gained from working with our beloved pets? They have been our most profound teachers by mirroring to us our most valuable life lessons.
They taught us how to laugh more often, how to relax and how to stop taking ourselves so seriously and how to always offer love, especially when it is not offered to us. They never judge us if we fall backward on our journey.

Roger and I both grew up with animals.
Roger grew up on an organic dairy farm with chickens, rabbits, pigs, cows, horses, dogs and cats.
I grew up with dogs.
Roger and I each have 40 plus years experience with animals, so when you combine our years together, we have over 80 plus years of experience between the two of us.
We are guardians for cats and we never once made a decision to adopt a cat.
The cats found us.
They moved onto our land, and into our home and hearts, from neighbors to the north and east, while others arrived from places unknown.

When time and weather permit we offer walks for dogs who have been trained to walk by your side.
We have a 48 hour cancellation policy, if you cancel less than 48 hours ahead of time you will be charged for the dates reserved.
Pictures are offered as a courtesy to our clients.
The majority of days per year we will send pictures of your dog(s), when we are home, unless we have a hectic day, then we will not.
Occasionally, we take time off, because we are with your beloved family members 24 hours each day, and 365 days per year.

On occasion we play classical or soft instrumental music but there are no noises except conversations between people and the animals.
Our intention is to create peace and calm as we do with our own animal family.
White vinegar, hydrogen peroxide and essential oils take care of bacteria, viruses and more.
We use a variety of organic essential oils.
Upon request we would love to share the specific oils we use and why.
We use natural and organic products, laundry soap, dish soap and shampoos.
We make our own organic bar and liquid hand soap.

Go straight through the La Crescent stop lights for 2 blocks to the 4-way stop (3rd Street South and Elm Street).
As you drive up the hill before the stone quarry the highway turns to Winona County 1, continue for 6.5 miles.
You will drive across the interstate on an overpass, continue straight on Winona County Highway 12 out of town to the top of the hill.
As you are about to crest the top of the hill turn left onto Winona County Road 1/Apple Blossom Drive.
Drive exactly 1 mile and we are on the right side of the road, blue and white sign, fire #30707.
